Now, the number one demon that must be put in check is deceptive intelligence. Every time that slip rises up to rationalize disobedience, you gotta stop it right then. No, I'm not gonna do that. But I don't want to. Lord, help me reduce my weakness. Help me to put this retrograde mind in check. Go ahead. And what makes you do those kind of things?

You pride yourself of being so intelligent. is pride, good before destruction. Most of us that have these degrees and really feel smart, you know, what the hell makes you smart? Destruction. What would you create with your intelligence? Not a damn thing. You create nothing, and you're depending on what a Creator created. Where did you get him, torture? What created the brain cells? No, no, no, wait a minute. The arrogance and false pride makes you pit your intelligence against the command of God.

And of course, all of us are so intelligent. Yes, it is intelligent, but every one of us are crazy. I mean, I don't see too many sane people around here, because all of us at one time or another pit our intelligence against the instructions of God and come up feeling that we are right and God is wrong. That is insanity. has to do with making invidious distinctions or improper comparisons with others. That's a sin. So look at this. We are Christians, Muslims, and Hebrews, and Jews.

We take our man to be Jesus. We should never use the comparative or superlative degrees of the adjective in describing the prophet of God. You never say Moses is better than Abraham, or Jesus is better than Moses, or Muhammad is better than them all. You can't say that! God says, in the Qur'an, I have made some of you to excel others. Not one of you made yourself that way. I made you. So don't give yourself more credit. Bring it back to God. But when you take your so-called beauty—some of you really think You have beauty. Some of you really think you're beautiful.

If everybody told you, you're so beautiful, you're so handsome, you wear that stuff long enough, you begin to act like it. But then you look at somebody that don't look as what you think is beautiful. I am prettier than her. Oh! I've got more knowledge than her. Oh! I graduated from Harvard. That fool graduated from Tougaloo.

Even besides loving the ingenious distinction to love yourself better than the next person, you're setting up sexism within yourself. You have to look at everything and focus for what it is, and say, God made this, God made that, God made this. I prefer this over that, but I can't say this is better than that unless God says that.
